It’s about wild life and man’s encroachment and the easy way to get a dinner.   Every year we in Truckee become aware of  man’s  experiences with bears.

This fellow decided to eat an apple supplied by a not too bright agent in a company parking lot, visiting with us for about a half an hour.

One fine morning a garbage man was going to a garbage house to pick up a barrel of trash.  When he opened the garbage house door, he was confronted with a bear inside.  He never ran track before but, he could have made the Olympics that day,

On the Tahoe Donner Golf course play was stopped at the first tee when a bear decided to cross in front of the golfers.   The starters sage advise was, "I think we’ll let him play through”.

Enjoying a dinner in front of our new water feature this warm summer evening, Mr. Bruin appeared  walking in front of our home in our direction.   Banging on my plate and yelling, made him stop with a curious look, seemed to think a bit and then leisurely retreated into the surrounding forest, without my dinner.
