As a small business owner it is interesting to consider the hard lessons learned in the previous 2 years.  Foremost is:

  “Good times don’t last forever”.

Cutting overhead feels like amputating an arm.  You may lose a little blood but, the patient lives.

Only dumb fish go after flashy new things they don’t need.

Cash in the bank is like mothers milk.

Trust is the most valuable commodity earned, money is second.

No matter what the problem is, most can be solved if -------- you don’t quit, -------you don’t give up ------and you don’t die.

It seems that the businesses that got us into this mess were the ones that swept honesty and integrity under the rug in favor of the corporate dollar.

In this fiasco, most little guys got their tail feathers singed.  In the future it will be the little guys who will  bring prosperity back, burned feathers and all.   It’s the carpenters, plumbers, electricians and lumber yard owners that will lead the way.

The glitz and huge dollars accumulated by the money changers takes on a whole new meaning when compared with the multitudes of people scrambling about to secure a roof over their families heads and making the next meal.
