Rise in Home Prices, First in 9 months
A new study by Altos Research shows that prices nationwide are moving upwards. 26 of the nations largest markets have been polled for this survey with 18 of the 26 showing breaking away from the downward spiral. San Francisco led the charge at 2.4 percent rise in sales during the last 3 months followed by Dallas, Washington, and D.C. The market that fell was Miami at 1.7%.
The Truckee, Lake Tahoe market seems to be getting stronger as well. We are finding more Buyers entering our market than a year ago, which is resulting in more sales, but Buyers are bargaining hard to get the lowest prices they can, while sellers are trying to hold the line. From that stand point very little has changed in the mountain real estate business.
