STAMBEDE RESERVIOR COULD BE RAISED
Thursday, January 07, 2010

The federal government is apparently studying the possibility of raising Stampede Dam by 11 feet, or doing nothing at all. The reason would be to give the dam more capacity during extreme floods and to be better able to meter water by controlling releases into the Truckee River, also for fish populations all the way down to Pyramid Lake. The report is due to be published in the first quarter of this year.
