Tahoe Forest Hospital and UC Davis Medical Center and research facilities have entered into a mutual support agreement.  This, in practice, institutes a periodic coming together of leading specialists to discuss difficult medical cases in the Lake Tahoe/Truckee area and the best procedures to overcome a specific illness.  

One of the results of the above agreement has to do the practice adopted by most doctors practicing medicine in the Tahoe/Truckee area to put patients history into a computer format which allows other doctors, who may be called upon to treat a patient, to have immediate, up to date information.  This practice has great relevance particularly in an emergency situation that may arise.
