It’s not the early 1900’s but, it might as well be.  There’s horses, dogs, jugglers, old cars, new cars, fire engines, singers, drill teams, more dogs and it goes on and on. 

 

          The morning starts with breakfast at the Fire Department,  Santa Maria Bar BQ at Dickson Realty with a blow by blow parade comentary by Kane Schaller.  The party moves to Donner Lake for a noon Rotary Bar BQ along with games for the kids just like you remember grand dad, sack races, 3 legged races, egg toss, cracker races, ice cream and watermelon .  All this as close to early 1900’s prices as Rotary can get and they get pretty close. Then comes the fire works at dark, put on by the Truckee Parks and Rec. Department.  Ain’t  this just a wonderful place to live?????

 

          It’s all happening in Truckee on Independence Day.  Come on down!
