Many economist have been touting the demise of the $8,000 tax credit as a signal that the tenuous recovery might be faltering.  It is no secret that the housing market is a key to economic growth.   Well, Good News,  the tax credit has been reinstated for another 3 months.   And, ladies and gentlemen, this has absolutely nothing to do with the elections that are coming up shortly.

After failing by two votes to pass an extension of unemployment benefits that included an extension of the home buyer tax credit, the Senate agreed to a separate bill to give home buyers an extra three-months to close on a purchase that qualifies for a federal tax credits of up to $8,000.
