It’s the bright, inquisitive, smiling faces that make me come back to read again to these pre schoolers.  When one becomes long of tooth, has raised a family along with grandchildren, one forgets how fascinating these youngsters can be.  This experience, while beneficial to the children, probably gives more of a lift to the readers.

   Dianne Fix of Truckee Noon Rotary started this reading program about 3 years ago and it has grown into half hour sessions 2 times a week.  The little guys and gals seem fascinated with male readers since many families have no fathers present.

 Many of the pre schoolers speak other languages beside English and even though some don’t understand English, they still are responsive to animation by the readers. 

 This is just another way that Rotary helps its’ youngsters  integrate into the community.
