After 2 weeks of snow, rain and freezing temperatures these last 3 weeks of May, Spring carefully  begins to appear.   Buds are pushing to maturity quickly, as if  to catch up for  3 weeks of freezing spring.  Aspens, daffodils, tulips and other flowers  begin a furtive appearance, not quite sure if it’s safe.

A sure sign of Truckee summer is Spuds’ Vegetable Stand, which opened in Truckee near Truckee Tahoe Lumber for, not sure how many  years, this Memorial Day weekend.   It’s more than a fruit stand since it gives the mountain community valley fresh produce, along with huge vine ripe tomatoes and guaranteed, 1 day from the field, corn.  Touching base with Spud, your sure to run into other old friends welcoming the coming of wonderful Truckee summer and garden fresh vegetables.

Yes, this is still small town Truckee with its’ simple 160 year old values.

A NEEDLE IN A HAYSTACK?  Not really.  The Schaller’s have helped hundreds of  families find their special Truckee, Lake Tahoe homes  since 1987.  http://www.truckeehomefinder.com
