Winter has begun in Truckee.  The greens and browns of summer have been replaced by the white of winter.  Today, we find highways 80 and 50 closed along with schools and most businesses.  It looks like tomorrow and the next day will be sunny and then 6 more days of snow.  Our thermometer boasts a sweltering 15 degrees but our home is warm and cozy.

We didn’t plan on having an extended weekend but, such is winter  life in the mountains.  The good part is that with the predicted base of this storm and the next, we will have 14 feet of new snow in Truckee and much more on the mountains.  Sounds like a bit much but, we’ll just have to see. In any event skiing for Christmas and the New Year, should be outrages.   So, tune up your skis.  Start working your legs and prepare for good skiing.

As an FYI, if a current on the spot weather report is wanted just email me and I’ll send it right back.
